About R&D Construction

R&D Construction is the building subsidiary of the R&D Construction Group.

The business is focussed on three main areas of activity: -

• Housebuilding
• Design & Build Contracts
• Specialist Contractor Activities

Housebuilding

R&D Construction builds new homes primarily for the Group housing subsidiary Meridian Residential Ltd.

With over 300 employees and a significant number of new apprentices, the company is currently building throughout Central and South West Scotland, with more developments planned for later this year.

R&D Construction also builds a significant number of new homes for housing associations often in mixed developments with Meridian Residential.

Design & Build Contracts

Whilst no longer engaged in general contracting the company continues to undertake construction projects for selected clients, in the provision of design & build contracts.

Recently completed contracts include Medical Centres at Lockerbie and Dumfries and we are currently engaged in the provision of a similar facility at Castle Douglas.

Specialist Contractor Activities

R&D Construction have for a number of years carried out maintenance works at the Chapelcross Nuclear Power Station. Although currently undergoing de-commissioning the facility has a need for ongoing maintenance and the company has recently been awarded the new term contract for this work.
